Why? Very often this is the first question couples ask when the subject of the pre-wedding shoot is raised. Simply, it is a wonderful opportunity for you to build your confidence in front of a camera and to understand just what it takes for the photographs of your dreams to be created.
The experience of working with me before the ceremony will certainly help to relax you on the day itself and relaxation really goes a long way to creating your magical photographs.
What happens at a pre-wedding shoot? You and I will have decided beforehand where it’s going to be held and we might have discussed a theme for the shoot. I will go over the basics for getting a really good shot – how to stand for instance can be crucial to showing a bride or groom at their best. The wrong stance and the photograph will lack impact and not add value to the album.
I encourage you to give an input into the photographs – another vital aspect and I will help by showing the photographs to you via the camera back.
Where should the pre-wedding shoot take place? You could, as some do, opt for a location that has a special meaning for you both or you could choose the wedding venue itself, especially if it has lovely grounds.
Who should come along to the shoot? Mostly it is the couple alone – some have brought their parents along and that’s fine. It is another opportunity to show you just how your photographs will be put together.
How can you use the photographs taken at the shoot? We will set up a private gallery for you so that you can choose your favourite photographs and we will send them to you on a disc at high resolution and print ready. The gallery we will send to you follows the same format as the one you will receive to view your wedding photographs.
The final photographs can be used on invitations or made into a special photo book that guests can sign at the wedding.
Of course, some couples have had their photographs framed or turned into beautiful canvas prints. In the digital age a short slideshow for use with Facebook or other social media sharing sites is another option. Not to forget the smart ‘signing’ frame that guests can sign – so many options it almost hurts the mind!! Lastly, the Pre-wedding shoot is something I offer as a complimentary addition.
