Portrait photography helps to show who we are, how we see ourselves and how we are seen. They can be straightforward or created for a certain look.
Maybe you saw a picture of a famous Hollywood film star from the 1920’s or 30’s that captured your imagination and you want to ‘reproduce’ that look. Maybe it’s something a little more modern and edgy. Either way, a portrait can be you …. almost in your own words!
The ‘environmental’ portrait that I offer places the sitter in their surroundings. Examples can be seen in the gallery. These can be so diverse that you may find that there are hundreds of variations in a single session, taken in any location in the UK and in any environment. Naturally you’ll be charged for the travel and time to get to far flung exotic places!
Equally I will take your portraits in your home – lovely, memorable portraits require little space to be crafted well.
I can get the family to stand in a formal line-up —I can do it, but it’s not something I encourage. An editorial look, bringing colour, life and fun into your shoot is what helps to bring you and your loved ones alive in the photographs. Kids running around with their brothers and sisters… rough and tumble with parents it all captures that magic – of your family.
If your family is younger, I will cater for you too — new-borns are amazing, tiny hands and cute feet make for the sweetest of photographs and something you will never stop looking at as the years roll on – and those adorable feet get too smelly to love!
